SaneBox: Keeping You Informed About Your Email Flow
SaneBox works tirelessly to maintain your email sanity across various email providers. We prioritize your important emails while seamlessly integrating with your existing setup. This guide explains how to identify and address potential hiccups in SaneBox processing.
Checking for Processing Issues:
- A red alert triangle on your SaneBox Dashboard next to your email address indicates interrupted processing. This could be due to:
- Temporary technical difficulties
- Authentication issues
- Outages at your email provider
- Pausing your SaneBox account or needing to renew your subscription will also trigger this alert.
What to Do When Processing is Disrupted:
- We’ll automatically retry: Our system is persistent and will keep attempting to reconnect with your mail server.
- Contact Us if Issues Persist: If the problem lasts more than a few hours, reach out to our support team here. We can help determine the cause and advise you on contacting your email host if necessary.
Understanding Slowdowns:
-
Temporary delays: Brief slowdowns may occur due to:
- Maintenance by your email host
- Resource-intensive tasks on SaneBox systems
- These delays won’t disable your account or trigger an alert. Unimportant emails might linger in your Inbox slightly longer, but SaneBox will catch up and resume normal functionality.
Verifying Email Sorting:
- Compare Webmail and Email Client: If emails don’t seem to be sorting as expected, compare your email view in both webmail and your email client app. Webmail offers a more direct view of your email server, revealing any temporary syncing issues with your email app.
Confirming SaneBox Activity:
- Create a new SaneBox training by moving an email within your webmail.
- Check your SaneBox Dashboard’s training section (here) after 5 minutes. Seeing your new training confirms SaneBox is active and processing your instructions.
Temporary Slowdowns (Possible Causes):
- Recent changes to SaneBox intelligence settings
- Enabling/disabling a new SaneBox feature folder
- Account signup with a large backlog of emails
- Issues on your email host’s server or network connection
These factors might temporarily delay processing new emails or other account features. SaneBox will automatically prioritize core processes and catch up once larger adjustments are complete.
Other Potential Blockers:
- Email Host Maintenance: SaneBox communicates with your email server to manage your emails. Scheduled maintenance by your email host can temporarily impact SaneBox.
- Storage Quota: If your email account reaches its storage limit, you’ll need to contact your email provider to either increase your storage space or delete old emails to regain SaneBox functionality.
- Connection Errors: “Connection refused” or “Timeout” errors from your email server will disable SaneBox processing. If you see a processing alert, check with your email provider for any recent changes or firewall adjustments that might be blocking SaneBox’s communication.
- Email Hosting Complexity: Even minor issues within your email host’s infrastructure can temporarily slow down SaneBox.
