Keep Your Existing Filters Safe While Trying SaneBox
Thinking of trying SaneBox but worried about your current Gmail filters? No problem! Here’s how to temporarily disable them and easily restore them later:
1. Export Your Gmail Filters:
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click the Settings icon (gear icon) in the top right corner.
- Select “See all settings”.
- Under the “Filters and Blocked Addresses” tab, click “Filters”.
- Choose the filters you want to export (select all if you want to back up everything).
- Click the “Export filters” button and save the downloaded file (it’s an XML file).
2. (Optional) Disable Your Exported Filters:
- While this step isn’t strictly necessary for trying SaneBox, you might want to disable the exported filters to avoid them interfering with SaneBox’s functionality.
- In the Filters list, check the boxes next to the filters you want to disable.
- Click the “Delete” button.
3. Give SaneBox a Try!
Now you can explore SaneBox’s organization features without worrying about your existing filters being disrupted.
4. Re-enable Your Filters (When Needed):
- Follow steps 1-3 above, but instead of clicking “Export filters,” click “Import” and select the saved XML file containing your filters.
- All your saved filters will be restored to your Gmail account.
