SaneBox and the Apple Mail client
SaneBox works with nearly any email client, device or provider (with the exception of POP-only providers, and there are very few of those left). The whole point of SaneBox is to get unimportant emails out of your way so that you can deal with your important ones now. We take all of those unimportant emails and put them into SaneLater so that you can either archive or delete them when you have free time.
How do I find my Sane folders in macOS Apple Mail
Note: For those with Exchange hosted email accounts, right-click on the Inbox for the email address and select “ Get account info”. This encourages Apple Mail to update your folder list.

For Apple Mail, the mailboxes panel may hide as collapsed by default. So you may need to click on the “Mailboxes” button (upper-left) to open up your view. (For older Apple Mail versions it’s a “Show” button.)
The view of your mail folders on your mailbox tree may also need to be expanded at times. Each has a *show/hide* toggle button. Just look to the area where the email count ovals show and down to the spot for the email account that SaneBox is running on. Hover your mouse pointer over the email count oval until its “Show” button appears. Click on it to see a list of all the email account folders and then select “@SaneLater”.
If you have scrolled through the list of folders and still don’t see SaneLater
Look to your Menu Bar at the top of your screen.
The “ Mailbox” Menu for Apple Mail provides a “ Synchronize” command that is useful in updating your view.
It’s also good to “Take all accounts offline”, wait, then “Take all accounts Online. This also helps show the most current state of mail on the server.
If you still don’t see @SaneLater or your other Sane folders, you’re probably using POP to view your mail. You need to switch to IMAP in order to use SaneBox. Luckily, we have example instructions on how to do that: http://pop2imap.com
Note : If you are already using IMAP server settings for the email account (in Apple Mail preferences) and none of the above has done the trick, it may help if you elect to delete your “account” entry for that email address from Apple Mail and then re-create it. You would re-create a fresh account entry in Apple Mail preferences, to get a fresh start and usually have things in good working order again. Remember, with an IMAP based setup in your mail software, the mail is stored on the server… This last mail troubleshooting step is often suggested, though you may want to check in with Apple support before proceeding.
